DeKalb County police say a Tires Plus employee was shot and killed by a customer who believed the employee had stolen a car.
Police responded to a Tires Plus store at 577 DeKalb Industrial Way after receiving a call about a person being shot. They found the 24-year-old clerk with a gunshot wound. He was taken to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
“Our detectives determined that the suspect [Quadarius McDowell, 30] took his vehicle into the shop for repairs,” a DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department spokesman said. At some point, the victim [Tires Plus employee Daniel Gordon, 24] began driving the suspect’s vehicle in the company parking lot. The suspect believed the clerk was trying to steal her car and fired several shots with a pistol, hitting the victim. He then fled on foot. “
The police found the suspect and successfully arrested him. He was charged with murder and is being held in the DeKalb County Jail.
